The ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) Pre-service Teacher Registration
Education Students – The ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) will be on campus to assist with pre-service teacher registration and other enquiries. In order to undertake a professional experience placement in a school in the ACT, pre-service teachers must be registered on the ACT Teacher Quality Institute Pre-service Teacher Register.

What you need to do to apply for registration with TQI:
If you wish to take the opportunity to register with TQI on the day, while they are on campus, you will need to bring along a smart device (laptop or phone) and the following documents:
- current enrolment in an approved initial teacher education program; and
- current Working With Vulnerable People Registration (or equivalent).
- Your evidence of current enrolment must be on an official document issued by the university and include:
- Name of university
- Your name
- Name of the course (must be an approved teacher education program)
- Statement that you are enrolled
- Date showing enrolment is current.
Please note that a Letter of offer is not evidence of your enrolment.
Working with Vulnerable People Card
Required for TQI Registration and you are also required to have this card prior to undertaking any of your professional placements. Access Canberra will be on campus on the same dates and times to assist with this.
No appointment is necessary – students will be seen on a first come, first served basis within the times allocated.
