Voice to Parliament Panel Discussion
Please join your Law Faculty First Nations Liaison Team, as we welcome Professor Asmi Wood (ANU), Professor Kim Rubenstein and third year law student, Tara Sanderson, in a panel discussion regarding the Voice to Parliament on 1 June 2023 as part of Reconciliation Week. Professor Asmi Wood is a Barrister and Professor at the Australian National University. His research centres on Constitutional recognition of Indigenous people in Australia and Indigenous Participation in Higher Education. Asmi works closely with the ANU's Tjabal Indigenous Higher Education Centre and with the Law Faculty.Professor Rubenstein is an Australian legal scholar, legal practitioner, professor, Fellow of the Australian Academy of Law and Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia. Kim is a champion for active citizenship and spent 13 years teaching at the University of Melbourne in constitutional and administrative law, migration law and citizenship law.Tara Sanderson is a third year Law and Arts student and proud Wiradjuri woman. Tara shared her experience as an Indigenous person in light of the Voice in a powerful discussion and has agreed to share her experiences again at this panel.
