Innovation districts are gaining significance as geographic areas of economic and social development. Dr Josep Pique will discuss the formation and growth of 22@Barcelona, one of the world’s first innovation districts as well as detail what other areas around the world are doing on this front. The University of Canberra’s Educated Life vision forms the basis for UC and its surrounds to be developed into a vibrant world-class innovation district.
Professor Frances Shannon, Acting Vice-Chancellor, will introduce Dr Pique and how Canberra might take advantage of this nexus of opportunity. RSVP is advised for catering purposes and places are limited.
Dr Pique is a former CEO of 22@Barcelona and is an internationally recognised expert on open innovation, smart-cities, and the formation of innovation districts. He is President designate of the International Association of Science Parks.
