This unit explores the different modes of visual communication used in illustrating design ideas. It introduces students to the psychology of seeing and covers the perceptual and cognitive process of thought and aesthetic enquiry. The unique language of visual literacy will be explored, with an emphasis on creative thinking. Students will also be introduced to technical drawing and acquire elementary model making skills and an understanding of colour theory. Students will undertake a series of exercises and research tasks to develop their visual communications skills and personal techniques.
