Medical Imaging Project Design H (10017.2)

This unit will allow students to develop an appropriate medical imaging research project. The unit will also review the main theoretical ideas that underpin research in a range of health and medical contexts. The unit provides theoretical support for the students to evaluate the use of qualitative and quantitative research methods and designs appropriate to answer their research question, develop a research proposal, and to evaluate the need for and develop, if appropriate, ethics and radiation applications.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
1. Identify different types of research methods and designs used in health;
2. Reflect upon and critique qualitative and quantitative research methodologies;
3. Select an appropriate research methodology to answer their research question;
4. Develop a research project including addressing ethical and radiation issues; and
5. Write an appropriate proposal for their research project.

10013 Computed Tomography AND 10015 Imaging Pathology AND 10029 Radiographic Imaging 2 AND 11475 Research in Medical Radiation Science

Must be enrolled in 319JA Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Medical Imaging)
