John Young

John Young has been actively working in Data Analytics and Data Science for over a decade. John is currently the Chief Data Scientist for Tridant, a boutique industry consulting company, working on projects involving manufacturing, superannuation and hospitality. Previous to this, he was working as a data scientist for one of the most profitable private gambling syndicates in the world. As a lifelong learner, John is completing his PhD in developing an analytical tool for detection of performance enhancing methods in sport. John also brings the strength of a 20 year secondary and tertiary teaching background ensuring a personal focus to assist each student to achieve their goals.

Linda Kujala

Linda is the UC Pro Student Success Advisor. Linda has over twenty years’ experience in higher education with expertise in Information Technology, student experience and operational management. Linda supports students studying UC Pro courses to ensure they have a smooth and enjoyable learning experience.

  • Identify types of descriptive statistics and calculate manually with spreadsheet tools

  • Explore analytics maturity of organisations

Managing and analysing data

  • Customise and enrich data ready for analysis
  • Identify and manage outliers in a dataset
  • Create visualisations to detect patterns and trends
Module 4

Working with multiple data sets

  • Define a relational database using entity relationship diagrams
  • Create, populate, and query a relational database with SQL
  • Combine and aggregate data with SQL
Module 5

Visualisation and storytelling

  • Understand the theory of effective visualisations
  • Best practices to design dashboards
  • Develop visualisations and dashboards in Tableau
Module 6

Successful data analytics

  • Identify potential issues working with data
  • Discover modern ways of working in an organisation as an analyst
