Florence Tran
Double major graduate with a passion for finance

Bachelor of Commerce (Banking and Financial Services), 2011, Bachelor of Arts (Management and International Studies ), 2011

Taking on a world of responsibilities in order to prepare for a blossoming career, double major finance graduate Florence Tran is putting her UC skills to the test every day at the office. Excelling in every task put before her, Florence is a Budget Officer with the Department of Finance, Budget Group.

In this new role, Florence is critical in developing new Environmental financial policies, advising clients and public servants of fiscal expenditures, and mentoring junior members of her team.

Even before graduating, Florence was making a name for herself as a public servant, spending nearly ten years with the Department of Human Services. Rising through the ranks, Florence began as a part-time Help Desk Analyst in 2007, but was quickly promoted as a finance officer upon graduating from UC in 2011.

Outside of school and work, Florence graciously gave her time to two of Australia's biggest cancer fundraising events – Daffodil Day (2013 & 2014) and Australia's Biggest Morning Tea (2013). Florence is also fluent in Vietnamese.

Although her hard work and dedication to higher learning paid off, Florence fondly relives her UC days. "If I could do it all over again, I would take my time at UC," Florence says. "I would take different classes that may not have necessarily been relevant to my degrees."

Florence's extraordinary work ethic and dedication makes her an exemplary role model and we are proud to call her a UC alumna!
