GRAD. DIP. IN SECONDARY EDUCATION IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION, 2002, BACHELOR OF APPLIED SCIENCE IN SPORTS COACHING, 2001

David King is a teacher specialising in Physical Education and Coaching. In addition to his two degrees from the University, David has commenced studying a Master of Educational Leadership at the University in 2011.

In 2010, David founded "Teacher's PD", a website that promotes and encourages professional development for teachers and educators. The website offers an extensive, free, database of professional development opportunities, promoting lifelong learning and currency in the teaching profession.

David recently completed a fundraising drive for Camp Quality, pledging to run the Marathon Des Sables, a 251-kilometre race through the Sahara Desert. The Marathon Des Sables is the toughest foot race on the planet. It takes over 7 days to complete, with temperatures as low as 5 degrees Celsius at night and as high as 52 degrees by day.

Most recently, David has set himself a challenge to run a marathon in every state and territory of Australia between April and September 2013. ""I am on a mission to raise awareness for the 'Back on Track' program," he says. "This program supports children and their families as they take on their own battle – fighting cancer at The Children's Hospital at Westmead. I will not be running these marathons alone though, I am doing it with a Children's Hospital Bandaged Bear strapped to my back. As you can imagine a strange but hopefully cute site, and one that gets a lot of attention at each destination."
