The Graduate Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and Foreign Language Teaching (FLT) prepares for a career in teaching English to speakers of other language, or a foreign language, in Australia and overseas. Previous teaching experience is not necessary.
The course integrates theory and practice in TESOL and Foreign Language Teaching, including English grammar and second language acquisition. Graduates will have advanced knowledge and skills for professional practice in language teaching and learning.

Students wishing to study this course must have an undergraduate degree or equivalent. No teaching experience is required.
Students from a non-English speaking background will require an IELTS score of 6.5 overall (with no band below 6) or equivalent.
$1,250 - full course fee
Please note this fee is part of the subsidised COVID-19 Federal Government support package and is contingent on students completing their studies by December 2020.
Fee payment can be deferred through the HECS-HELP scheme.
Students studying a Graduate Certificate in TESOL and Foreign Language Teaching must pass 12 credit points as follows:
Elective study (choose 2 units):
One semester full-time or equivalent. Students must complete study by December 2020.
Part-time: 1 June 2020 (Winter term) (1 subject in Winter term and 3 subjects in Semester 2)
Full-time: 3 August 2020 (Semester 2)
Part-time (1 subject only): 1 June 2020 (Winter term)
Fulltime: 3 August 2020 (Semester 2)
