Scholarships

The scholarship application period for the 2019 Seeds of Change: Gender equality through agricultural research for development conference is now closed.

All applicants will be advised of the outcome of their scholarship submission no later than Thursday, 6 December 2018.

The following are the details of the, now closed, Scholarship Application process.

A number of scholarships are available for researchers and practitioners.

The scholarship will cover:

  • Return airfares to Canberra
  • Airport transfer to and from the University of Canberra
  • Conference registration and meals
  • Conference dinner
  • Four nights accommodation

Recipients will be required to present a paper or a poster.

Eligibility criteria

International researchers/practitioners
  • Live and work in a low or middle income country as defined by DFAT (listed here)
  • Have limited or no access to conference travel funding
  • Be employed at a university, agricultural research institute, NGO, government department or agricultural agency
  • Be eligible to obtain an Australian visa and able to travel to Australia.

Australian HDR students/researchers/practitioners
  • Have limited or no access to conference travel funding
  • Be a research student or employed at a university, research agency, NGO, agricultural agency or not currently in paid employment

Please note: a number of the Australian scholarships have been designated for Indigenous students/researchers.

Applicants should provide:

  • A one-page Seeds of Change scholarship submission that addresses the above eligibility criteria and states how participating in this conference will contribute to your research/practice
  • A brief CV/resume outlining your education and research backgrounds, work experience and community involvement
  • A copy of your submitted paper, panel or poster proposal.

Scholarship applications should be emailed to Jenny Truong at jenny.truong@canberra.edu.au no later than Sunday, 18 November 2018. Late submissions will not be accepted.
