Launch of Yeddung Gauar (Good Heart) Project (3 May 2018)

This exciting new Indigenous cardiac rehabilitation program was launched during the 2018 National Heart Week.

The Yeddung Gauar (Good Heart) program is for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women who have had a heart attack, have heart disease, or are at risk of having heart disease. The aim of Yeddung Gauar is to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their families to take care of their hearts by providing a flexible cardiac rehabilitation program. This program has been developed with community and consists of weekly exercise (1 hour) and education (30 minutes) sessions delivered by a multidisciplinary team, with the support of an Indigenous Health Worker, at The University of Canberra's Health Hub.
