Dr Paul Collis

Paul CollisPaul Collis is a Barkindji person.

Paul was born in Bourke, far North/Western NSW.

Paul is an academic and achieved a PhD from University Canberra in 2015.

Paul teaches Indigenous Studies and Creative Writing at University Canberra.

Paul lives and works in Canberra.

Paul is a writer and poet.

Paul's first novel, Dancing Home, won the Unaipon Award for a previously unpublished Indigenous author in 2016, and won the ACT Book of The Year in 2019.

Paul's first book of poetry, Nightmares Run Like Mercury, was published in 2021.
