Occupational Therapy Clinic

The Occupational Therapy student-led clinic provides services for children aged 3-18 years.  The clinic aims to provide Occupational Therapy students with the opportunity to work with children and their families.  All services are provided under the supervision and guidance of a registered occupational therapist.

The clinic works closely with children/adolescents and their families to develop life skills for participation in everyday activities at home, school and the community.

This may include assessment and support to develop:

  • Independence in self-care such as dressing and using cutlery
  • Participation in play, social and recreational activities
  • Handwriting and other skills for school and preschool
  • Strategies to stay calm, focused and organised
  • Skills to manage sensory processing and learning difficulties for everyday life

Referrals can be made by contacting the reception on 62015843.

Intervention is provided through Individual or Group Programs which are targeted to the needs of specific individuals. These may include but are not limited to:

  • Skills for pre-school
  • Skills for school
  • Self-Care
  • Sensory processing

For more information about the group programs please contact the clinic reception.  Children who wish to participate in group programs will first need to have an individual session to identify individual needs and goals and determine suitability for the group.

As services are provided by students under supervision, no rebate is available through private health funds, Medicare or third party providers.
