Mykal Zschech Various Works
Very little is known about Mykal Zschech despite being a prolific painter and print-maker with almost nothing published about the artist. What we do know is that Mykal was born in 1957 in Portland, Victoria and exhibited his prints in the late 1970s and early 1980s.1
The Works of Art
The University of Canberra has about fifty lithograph prints all donated by Mykal Zschech, of which the majority are on display across the campus. The prints depict a range of themes including still life, seascapes and modern day allegorical pictures. For example, Mercury Loves Bower-Bird, depicted below, relates to how Mercury is seen as the Roman God of Communications and Prince of Thieves which relates to the Bower-bird with its habit of stealing bright things.
