The University of Canberra’s Night of Nights is a community-wide celebration of the University, its alumni, outstanding research, and academic achievement. Showcasing UC’s positive impact in our community and across the globe, the evening celebrated our Distinguished Alumni, both lifetime achievers and rising stars and the outstanding contribution they make within their industries and communities.
UC’s Night of Nights used to be known as the Distinguished Alumni Awards (DAA’s), with the first one held in 2001 as part of the University’s celebrations to mark 30 years of teaching on the Bruce campus. The awards were held again in 2008 to coincide with the 40th Anniversary and in the years since, the DAA’s have become a biennial event that continues to blow us away with the number of amazing alumni who come to the surface. You too can be blown away by our previous winners.
This year, the inaugural Night of Nights took place on 29 July at one of Canberra's most iconic venues, the National Arboretum. The event was an evening of celebration, with fun and community at the centre of the planning and a spotlight on just two, particularly incredible awards:
Chancellor’s Lifetime Achievement Award
In recognition of a lifetime's achievement.
Chancellor’s Rising Star Award
In recognition of an emerging professional in any industry.
Congratulations to Natalie Ahmat and Alasdair Roy OAM, winners of the Chancellor’s Lifetime Achievement Award, and Timi Tapara and Emily Coates, winners of the Chancellor’s Rising Star Award.
The University of Canberra’s Night of Nights is brought to you by its Corporate Supporters, Audi Centre Canberra, Allhomes, Synergy, and Ray White Canberra.
