Study Abroad Scholarships

The University of Canberra offers a range of Study Abroad Scholarships to students. Take a look at the scholarships listed below to find the one best suited to you.

The New Colombo Plan Mobility Program funding from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade to Australian universities to support Australian undergraduate students to participate in short-term study across the Indo-Pacific region.

These grants are applicable to particular Faculty led programs. More information can be found through our Program Search.

The Australian Government encourages Australian students to immerse themselves in the academic and social cultures of other countries and provides opportunities for overseas students to study and experience Australia. Administered by the Department of Education and Training, Endeavour Mobility Grants supports engagement between Australia and the rest of the world through student mobility.

These grants are for postgraduate students to undertake short-term study in Asia.

These grants are applicable to particular Faculty led programs. More information can be found through our Program Search.

The ECKSEP grants are jointly funded by the Australian Government and Cheung Kong, represented in Australia by Powercor Australia. This unique and successful public/private partnership has involved the Government and Cheung Kong contributing matched funding to support undergraduate student exchange between Australia and selected Asian locations for over 10 years.

Study must be for academic credit and equivalent to at least one full study period, as recognized by the University of Canberra, up to 12 months in duration. The grant requires a partnership agreement to support tuition fee waiver and credit transfer.

For Semester 2 2016 and Semester 1 2017 there are 6 x $5,000 scholarships available for exchange students traveling to Thailand.

For Semester 1 2018, there will be:

One 5000 AUD scholarship available for a female exchange student studying at Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Architecture for Women Two 5000 AUD scholarships available for Hong Kong One 5000 AUD scholarship available for China (Ningbo University)

The Family of Clea Rose is generously offering one scholarship per year to encourage students to undertake a study abroad experience as part of their University of Canberra study program. This scholarship is valued at $2,500 and is open to 2nd year or higher undergraduate students. Please see the Clea Rose Travel Award information.

Applications close on Census Day of Semester 1 annually.

The Australia Thailand Institute (ATI) at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is funding Australian students with scholarships of $4,000 to support outbound year or semester exchanges to Thailand.

Universities Australia will manage the scholarships.

The Prime Minister's Australia Asia Endeavour Awards are prestigious awards that aim to build on the relationship between Australia and Asia by recognising the best and brightest scholars from these areas.

They provide the unique opportunity for postgraduates and undergraduates to not only undertake international study, but also internships or work placements.

Up to AUD $40,000-60,000 is available towards travel and establishment allowances, tuition, internship contributions and travel insurance.
