A Word From Our Students

Deena Ahmed, New York City

“I'm from New York, one of the most exciting cities in the world, and I'm telling you right now, if Canberra is anything, it's not boring. My schedule is super packed with schoolwork, fun & exciting events, trips, and PARTIES! This exchange program is one of the best experiences I've ever had! If you ever get the chance to do it, DEFINITELY take that chance! You will not regret it. So many wonderful memories will be made here! The people are great, the UC staff are very helpful and they work hard to provide us with everything we need as exchange students. This program will let you explore and learn so much about yourself, about Australian culture & life, and it will definitely help you grow as a person.”

"Living in Australia was a dream of mine since I was a kid, so with the idea of studying abroad and, thanks to God’s providence, I was able to hop on a plane and kiss Tennessee goodbye!

Studying at the University of Canberra was the experience of a lifetime!  Canberra was close enough to Sydney to take lots of trips, but in the bush enough to see kangaroos on campus!  The people I met and got to know in Australia made it the experience of a lifetime.  The folks I lived with and my fellow exchangers helped to make every moment unforgettable. Now they are friends that I hope to keep for the rest of my life.

Going out on my own to a new country helped bring about this kind of personal growth. I would love to have the opportunity to travel with a job in the future, so studying abroad is a great experience to have on my resume. I have already had interviews since I have come home and it is something that employers have been really excited to talk about with me.

Wherever life takes me, Australia will always be my first love."

"I decided to study at the University of Canberra because they had a great academic program for business. While studying here I learnt a lot about the Australian culture and loved the fact that I would wake up to kangaroos just outside my room.

It was a great experience and I became more independent and confident. I met many amazing people who I share irreplaceable memories with."

Stephanie Rieser, Germany

Stephanie Rieser"The University of Canberra gave me insight into other teaching styles and studying methods. My home university had an agreement with UC and it looked like a great place to study so I decided to participate in the University of Canberra's Study Abroad Program.

It was really nice experiencing studying in another country because it was so different from my home university. There are so many nice people that support you and help you extend your knowledge. It is definitely worth studying abroad."
