Please join us for the latest in our CCCR Seminar series, presented by Ross Gibson. Abstract: In this talk I will examine how the process of ‘re-mixing’ or ‘over-writing’ or ‘redacting’ is, to varying degrees, essential to just about all forms of creativity. Offering examples from music as well as from my own writing and film-making, I will consider how one’s inherited cultural precedents, more than one’s own inventive originality, can be considered and used as the well-spring of creativity. And how this can take the pressure off!
