Wade Davis will join Jean-Paul Gagnon in conversation this November 24 at 10:00 am (AEST) on Teams to discuss "democracy in the Ethnosphere". This conversation is underscored by the realization that half of the world's indigenous languages & cultures will likely be extinct by 2050. This loss of ethnodiversity is, of course, deeply unsettling for many reasons but the one focused upon in our talk is that we are facing lost lessons in doing democracy as the enthosphere is rich in teachings about different manifestations of democracy and how they may be used to help non-Indigenous (read Western) polities rescue their falling liberal democratic orders. Are we facing the extinction of an oral library on democracy? Join us for the answer to this question and more.
