This unit introduces fundamental building knowledge and management principles relevant to the building construction industry, including building societies; building and construction conceptions; global and national construction sectors; construction project life cycle; project managers; project management theory and techniques; construction economics; modern construction technologies; sustainable building and construction; computer-based construction project management. The unit can help students familiarise the building construction management conceptions and support their later studies in the field of built environment construction industry.

Larry Xiancun Hu
Dr Larry Xiancun Hu is currently Assistant Professor in the Building and Construction Management discipline in the School of Design and Built Environment, Faculty of Arts and Design; University of Canberra (UC). He had taught at Deakin University, Edith Cowan University, Shandong Jianzhu University (China), University of Melbourne, and Victoria University. His research focuses on Sustainable Construction, Performance Measurement, and Construction Project Management.

The Faculty of Arts and Design (FAD) at UC offers alternate entry via portfolio submission for applicants who may not meet the required entry rank.
