What services we provide
UCSRC provides and/or manages Legal Aid services, Advocacy Services, Women’s Room facilities and support for UC’s online student magazine (Curieux).
Legal Aid Services - located in Student Central, legal aid is provided by Legal Aid ACT lawyers. This is a free, confidential service available 9am-5pm Tuesdays and Thursdays to students, staff and members of the local community.
Advocacy Services - occasionally a problem arises in relation to actions or decisions taken by University staff, including matters involving administration, learning and teaching and breaches of University policy. The UCSRC provides free advice, support and advocacy to all UC students who have a grievance. Students requiring advocacy and support as part of the conduct process can contact an Advocacy Officer via the Contact Us page.
Women’s Room - located in Building 1 (1B4) off the concourse, this SSAF funded and UCSRC supported facility provides a quiet space for women. This room is only accessible to all via swipe card access between 7:00am and 7:00pm. To register please attend the Security Office Building 8 (Concourse) with your student ID Card. Tea and coffee provided. Everyone is welcome. Please respect the space and the people who occupy it.
