Science and Technology
The Faculty of Science and Technology (SciTech) offer a number of Work Integrated Learning (WIL) options for students, including:
- Research & Community Projects
- Placements e.g. Knowledge Exchange Placement (KEP)
SciTech have an internship unit available to students in the Information Technology and Information Sciences fields. In addition to this, the Faculty offers Network and Software Engineering Science students the opportunity to undertake a 12-week placement as part of the accreditation requirements to join Engineering Australia on completion of their course.
Students undertaking courses in Applied Science have the opportunity to undertake internships and placements as relevant to their course of study through the Professional Practice in Applied Science unit (8783). There are a number of partner organisations who offer these opportunities throughout the year.
Knowledge Exchange Placement (KEP)
Knowledge Exchange Placement (KEP) scholarships are offered to high-performing students eligible to apply for this 12 credit-point program. Internships are advertised through CareerHub, and through your Faculty course convenors.
This program sees successful students receive a monetary scholarship to undertake a full time semester long internship in the host organisations workplace. You will undertake a special project and be a full time member of the team. More information on how to be a part of this program, speak with your Course Convenor or contact the UC Engagement Office.
