Syllabus

Focusing on a number of historical themes, this unit provides a critical analysis of contemporary architecture. It discusses the theoretical issues pertinent to a comprehensive understanding of the formal and aesthetic implication of architectures adaptation to digital technologies.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:

1. Compare contemporary architecture with early modern movement architecture;

2. Measure learned tolls for architectural analysis;

3. Collect data showing how technological changes influence architecture; and

4. Formulate a critical review of an assigned project.

Assumed Knowledge

Architectural knowledge in accord with the learning outcomes of the Bachelor of Arts in Architecture or equivalent.
