Syllabus
In this Studio students will undertake a medium sized project that explores architecture in a non-urban setting. Typological issues are investigated with reference to landscape, natural elements, and purpose. Materiality and structural issues are studied towards the cultural specificity of the given program.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this unit students will be able to:
1. Discuss heterogeneity and diversity in architecture;
2. Identify the boundaries between public and private spatial organizations;
3. Employ strategies to cultivate scale, material, and landscape sensibilities in design; and
4. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of materiality and techniques of making.
