Syllabus
The purpose of this unit is to provide students with an understanding of basic English grammar. The unit covers such areas as grammatical properties of word categories, tense and aspect, and various types of sentence structures. The discussion of each area deals with form, meaning and use.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this unit, students will:
1. Have gained a knowledge of basic English grammar;
2. Be able to recognise and explain a range of basic grammatical forms and sentence structures; and
3. Be able to apply this knowledge in their academic study and communication.
