    Syllabus

    This unit considers the role and function of knowledge management in a wide range of organisations. It examines the emergence of knowledge management and its implications for organisational performance within the concept of the learning organisation. Current theoretical approaches to knowledge and management are also considered.

    Learning Outcomes

    On successful completion of this unit, studnets will be able to:

    1. Understand the role, function and purpose of knowledge management.

    2. Understand the importance of organisational culture for knowledge management initiatives.

    3. Examine current theoretical approaches to knowledge management; and

    4. Consider factors affecting the implementation of knowledge management programs.
