Syllabus

The course material develops an understanding of the aetiology and pathophysiology of disease and its clinical management utilising evidence based medicine principles.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit, students will be able to:

1. Demonstrate an understanding of the aetiology, epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical presentation, drug management and monitoring of the disease states covered;

2. Utilise drug information resources to apply the principles of evidence-based medicine to the disease states covered; and

3. Design medication management plans to address the disease states covered.

3 hour lecture/tutorial. Placement in clinical settings will be held throughout the unit.
