This unit explores the concept of professionalism in graphic design as it relates to the work designers produce and the processes by which they produce it. The unit covers the practicalities of commercial operation and prepares students for community engagement, and in doing so considers contemporary demands for new levels of professionalism that address issues of sustainability and ethics.
- engage with the community as an independent professional graphic designer; - appreciate the ethical and sustainability issues affecting graphic design practice; - demonstrate an understanding of how to address issues of ethics and sustainability within the constraints of a brief.
Three hours per week.
Enrolment in the Bachelor of Graphic Design or combined courses and completion of 36cp of study.
