Syllabus
This unit is designed to increase the communicative competence of students in the Mandarin Chinese language through written discussion of authentic print and electronic materials from Chinese-speaking societies. Translation skills will cover translating English passages into Chinese and vice versa. The unit covers a range of topics relevant to the Australian society and to each students professional orientation.
Learning Outcomes
DESCRIPTION:
1. students will be able to write 3000 commonly used Chinese characters used in a variety of fields of study
2. translate simple passages and interpret in a various contexts from English into Chinese and vice versa.
Contact Hours
Three hours per week consisting of 1 lecture and 2 tutorials.
