    In this studio students will explore complex spatial, social, structural, and formal issues concerning public and/or civic architecture. Environmental determinants and technological issues are addressed in reference to the cultural dimension of civic architecture.

    Learning Outcomes


    1. On successful completion of this unit students will be able to: Interpret the socio-cultural and urban significance of civic architecture;

    2. Compare architectonics of public and civic buildings in relation to the city;

    3. Examine skills needed to think and articulate architecture across the wider culture;

    4. Demonstrate judgment, and critical reflection on architecture as a cultural milieu; and

    5. Demonstrate critical reflections on sustainability.
