    Syllabus

    This unit deals with the field ofhuman factors in the development of a user-centred approach to design. It introduces the history and scope of human factors in design and how this governs human interaction and user-trial techniques. Practical projects and exercises are used to demonstrate the importance of such things as human dimensions, graphic interfaces and user acceptance.

    Learning Outcomes

    1. determine principles relevant to the exercise of user-centred design;
    2. apply graphic interface principles to digital design;
    3. apply human factors principles to design projects; and
    4. work independently and as part of a team.

    Contact Hours

    Up to four hours per week consisting of lectures/studio/workshop.
