This unit expands on the creative focus essential to the design of complex products. Students are asked to design products taking into account criteria such as market identification, manufacturing processes and consideration of human interaction. The focus is on increased levels of complexity in product design.
1. communicate a finished design solution using three-dimensional models and virtual models and appropriate manufacturing and two-dimensional presentations;
2. understand the range of issues necessary to the development of products; and
3. apply a variety of design approaches
Up to six hours per week consisting of lectures/studio/workshop.
Design Studio 2.2 (Industrial Design). This unit is not open to students who have passed Industrial Design 3.1.
