    Syllabus

    This unit will provide students with an understanding of the theory and concepts involved in the design, development and evaluation of web sites to support an organisations strategic goals. It will enable students to understand the relationship between the information and communication needs of an organisation and the internets potential for meeting these needs. Students will focus on the process involved in building an organisational web site and will link theory and practice by designing, implementing and evaluating a web site for a specific organisation.

    Learning Outcomes

    1. evaluate the effectiveness of existing web sites as a means of communicating with an audience; communicate effectively using appropriate writing style for the web; apply best practice principles in web design and integrate the various design decisions relating to the development of a web site; conduct usability evaluation of web sites; interact with colleagues and stakeholders in a collaborative approach to web site design and development.
