Syllabus
The unit is a critical survey of major theories and issues in language acquisition. The focus is on second language acquisition (SLA) but reference is also made to first language acquisition. Relationships are explored between second language acquisition theories and research and classroom language teaching.
Learning Outcomes
DESCRIPTION:
1) will be familiar with major issues in second language acquisition
2) have developed an understanding of the language acquisition process
3) become aware of various factors underlying the process
