Syllabus
This unit responds to increasing awareness for governments and the community at large of the particular healthcare challenges facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians. This unit will explore contemporary issues affecting relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Australians and non-Indigenous Australians in the context of healthcare outcomes across the lifespan.
Learning Outcomes
DESCRIPTION:
1. Critically reflect on historical and contemporary issues affecting the relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous Australians
2. Develop knowledge, skills and attitudes for positive engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as they receive healthcare
3. Interpret and analyse rudimentary healthcare data for of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Australians
