    This subject comprises a survey of contemporary design issues and the circumstances surrounding the production and reception of design objects. The subject emphasises the interconnectedness of forms of contemporary culture, their relation to ideas and circumstances of contemporary society and the implications therein for designers and architects.

    Learning Outcomes


    1. a background knowledge of the range of contemporary design issues

    2. a critical understanding of some of the ways designers continue to respond to these issues

    3. and an appreciation of the scope for further contributions to these areas
