|Level:||Level 2 - Undergraduate Intermediate Unit|
|Faculty:||Faculty of Arts and Design|
|Discipline:||Discipline of Built Environment and Design|
This unit introduces students to advanced tools and techniques of 3D modelling software, such as BIM (Revit Architecture), AutoCAD & 3DS Max, using the digital environment for manipulating the 3D form. The unit explores advanced principles of 3D modelling using lighting solutions, rendering and other techniques appropriate for application in a range of fields including architecture, landscape architecture, graphic design, interior architecture and industrial design.
On successful completion of this unit students will be able to:
1. explore space planning and investigate methodologies for design solutions in 3D form;
2. apply an advanced level using BIM or related 3D software applications for creative expression in a conceptual design context;
3. communicate design intentions using 3D imagery; and
4. generate artist impressions and walk through animations suitable for professional level client presentations.
Up to 3 hours a week.
