Syllabus
Accounting for Managers introduces students to a range of financial information for business reporting, planning and investment decision making. This unit introduces students to generally accepted financial accounting principles and management accounting concepts and techniques.
Learning Outcomes
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
1. Explain the role of accounting in organisations;
2. Discuss and apply sustainability principles and ethics to financial decision making;
3. Analyse, evaluate business transactions and communicate financial information to a range of stakeholders;
4. Interpret, analyse and use information contained in published financial reports for making informed decisions about the allocation of financial resources;
5. Apply basic management accounting techniques for business planning and control;
6. Describe and apply capital budgeting techniques to make investment decisions.
