Syllabus
The aim of this unit is to give students an understanding of and a feel for the role of the marketing manager in both small, medium and large businesses and organisations in Australia and globally. The unit provides an introduction to the basic problems and practices in marketing management. This subject includes such topics as the marketing environment, analysing marketing opportunities and designing appropriate an marketing mix for different target markets.
Learning Outcomes
After successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
1. Analyse domestic and international marketing environments and supply chains;
2. Design appropriate marketing strategies for specific market segments;
3. Critically evaluate marketing strategies and their impact on stakeholders including ethical considerations; and
4. Develop a marketing plan for a small business enterprise/charity/ public sector service / indigenous business(either hypothetical or based on a 'real' client.
