Possible changes to your unit's learning activities and assessment items

For the remainder of 2020, resulting from Australian Government's directives requiring physical distancing and restrictions on movement because of the COVID-19 pandemic, any exams that are required for assessment in a unit will be online exams. This unit introduces students to front-end web design concepts, skills and theories. Students explore a mix of theoretical and practical front-end techniques and concepts, including usability, accessibility, responsive design, frameworks and designing for a content management system. This hands-on unit will provide students with a solid understanding of the web design industry and of modern and emerging web design techniques and practices.

Learning Outcomes

After successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:

1. Identify and critique a range of front-end web design concepts, skills and theories;

2. Experiment with the creation of web-based interactive interfaces using appropriate concepts and techniques; and

3. Review and evaluate appropriate development methodologies in the creation of interactive works.
