This unit commences a clinical focus of the student?s work in the Master of Medical Ultrasound. Students will focus on an ultrasound clinical examination or anatomical region according to their own professional interest. Working with academic and clinical supervisors, the students will work towards mastery of knowledge and clinical skill in their chosen ultrasound speciality.
This unit will commence the development of a clinical portfolio of their own work in that area. The unit Clinical Sonography PG (Part B) will finalise this work. The major outcome of this work will be an exegesis, with a focus on the ultrasound clinical examination or anatomical region chosen. This will be undertaken under the guidance of an academic supervisor.
After successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
1. Plan and develop a clinical portfolio to a standard acceptable within the profession; and
2. Plan and undertake a literature review of their chosen area of the clinical portfolio.
