This unit covers concepts of building procurement, including the methods and processes of building procurement, procurement strategies in the public and private sectors, and risk management. The unit includes learning by case studies.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:

1. Distinguish and employ the principles and practices of construction procurement and procurement management;

2. Differentiate between the relevant regulations and standards in construction procurement; and

3. Prepare and apply construction procurement strategies, and procurement management processes to achieve successful outcomes.
