Introduction:
The Landscape Architecture course major promotes the acquisitions of skills and knowledge through research-led teaching i.e. through design studios, tutorials, and field trips. The Landscape Architecture course major offers a number of studios and seminars that are directly related to the research activities of our highly trained academics and sessional teaching staff. This teaching approach exposes students to topical and current issues in landscape architecture, theory and practice. The Landscape Architecture Course major is characterised by the processes of making, reading, and knowing of landscapes in urban and non-urban contexts. Students learn how to appreciate the rich and culturally diverse ways in which landscapes are understood, especially from Indigenous perspectives. The students will also explore the landscape as physical and cultural systems. Our mode of teaching is innovative and dynamic, with much opportunity for students to engage with research and practice as they progress their study.
