Introduction:

This major provides students with comprehensive knowledge of the major issues, approaches and perspectives associated with the professional practice of creative writing, and allows them to build their aesthetic and technical skills in two or more writing genres. Students develop their skills by completing a major project at third year level. This major can be completed as an 18 or 21 credit points option. Students wishing to complete the 21 credit point option will take an additional unit from the list of restricted choices to make up the balance of the required credit points. Students in the Bachelor of Writing will complete this major at a minimum of 18 credit points including units 8905 Screenwriting, 7479 Writing for Young People, 6881 Poetry and the Imagination, and 8298 Creative Project.
