This major is designed for students who would like to complement their studies with digital skills, but are currently not pursuing BIT, BSE, BBI and BENSE courses. In this major, students are given a foundation in digital skills, which allows them to be skilled in using a range of information and communication technologies and systems needed for modern workplaces, organisations and industries. This unit set introduces the students with fundamental concepts of information and communication technologies and systems and equips them with skills to use a range of ICT tools, include hardware, software, networking, web and mobile in workplaces, along with concepts of IT security, databases, multimedia, social media and acquisition of skills in technology leadership, strategy and innovative problem-solving aspects. This major also offers enough knowledge, skills and credits for students to transition to Information Technology and Systems courses, undergrad or postgrad, or select some specific units in the IT field to suit their interests. This major is open to all students of every course, other than the students in the ITS Program and the students in the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) program, as this major is designed to be a breadth major for all other faculties and disciplines/programs at the University.
Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
This breadth major is not available to students in the Bachelor of Information and Mainframe Technology, Bachelor of Engineering Technology, Bachelor of Information Technology, Bachelor of Software Engineering, Bachelor of Business Informatics or Bachelor of Engineering in Network and Software Engineering courses.

Restricted Choice - 12 credit points as follows
- Part A - Must pass 3 credit points from the following
- Part B - Must pass 3 credit points from the following
Part C - Must pass 6 credit points from the following
- any units offered by the School of Information Technology & Systems.
- Part C units should be chosen to either meet the prerequisites of the named units in the Major or to complement Major units for a better learning outcome.
