Celebrating 50 years

If you went to school in Canberra, it’s very likely your teacher was a University of Canberra graduate. We’ve been teaching Canberra’s teachers for the past 50 years, from our time as the Canberra College of Advanced Education to when we officially became the University of Canberra in 1990.

Our students continue to get a first-rate education, getting valuable, hands-on experience throughout their degree and benefiting from our strong links to the ACT school system. In fact, almost half of the ACT’s schoolteachers have a University of Canberra degree and over 15,000 students have graduated from the Faculty of Education’s degree programs over the years.

#MyClassroomStory

We’re celebrating five decades of education by hearing from some of our outstanding graduates. Everyone has a favourite classroom story to share, from the first generation of teaching graduates to those fresh out of university.
