How do I submit timetable preferences and allocate times for my personal timetable?

After you have successfully enrolled into your unit/s, you can select times for your tutorials, workshops, laboratories and studios (if applicable) through the University timetabling system Allocate+.

Tutorial selection and preferences
STEP 1Log into MyUC and select the 'Enrolments & Timetable' tab from the navigation menu.
STEP 2From the menu on the left hand side, select 'UC Tutorial System – Personal Timetable and Class Selection'.
STEP 3Select the appropriate timetable year (if applicable) using the 'Go to Allocate+' buttons. Allocate+ will launch taking you to the homepage where you will find your personal details, instructions on how to use the system and enrolled units (on the left-hand side). If any of your units don't appear, please ensure you are enrolled and confirmed in these units under Confirmation of Enrolment).
STEP 4You will notice that each of your units has an 'activity' under it (the activity key can be found here). Each of these activities will have an action next to it (in brackets).  If any of your activities has 'SELECT' or 'PREFERENCE' next to it, you will be able to nominate a preferred tutorial time (for non-first year level units) or preference (for first year level units). To do this, click the activity which will load the scheduled activity times.
For non-first year level units:
STEP 5A 'Select', 'Full', or 'Clash' button will appear next to each of classes scheduled. Choose your preferred time by clicking the corresponding 'Select' button.
Please note:  If you see a 'Full' button (there are no places left) or 'Clash' button (this time clashes with another class on your timetable) next to your preferred time, you will need to choose an alternative time (For more information on these status's please see status definitions).
STEP 6If your unit has more than one activity (for example a tutorial 'T' and a workshop 'W'), you will need to repeat step 6 for each of the activities.
STEP 7Repeat steps 5 – 6 for each of your units.

For first year level units (and any postgraduate units co-taught with these units):
As a first year student, you are required to submit preferences for each of your activities.
STEP 5Once your activity timetable loads, a drop down box will appear against the corresponding class time. Using this box, nominate your preferred class time for this activity listing '1' as your first preference, '2' as your second preference and so on. Allocate+ will advise you on the minimum number of preferences you are required to submit.

STEP 6When you are happy with your preference selection, click 'Save'.  Once you have saved your preferences, the activity status should change from 'unconfirmed' to 'pending' on the dashboard meaning that your preferences have been successfully saved.
STEP 7If your unit has more than one activity (for example a tutorial 'T' and a workshop 'W'), you will need to repeat steps 5 – 6 for each of the activities.
 STEP 8

Repeat steps 5 – 7 for each of your units.

Important Tips:
  • Allocate+ will not allow you to pick a class activity that clashes with another class or lecture.
  • You will not be able to nominate class times for units you are not enrolled into. If you are waiting for a waiver to be processed, you will need to wait until your enrolment in this unit has been confirmed before selecting your preferred class time.
  • You can check to see the status of your classes by using the traffic lights on the dashboard:
Green  Indicates you have successfully been allocated into a class
Orange Indicates you have successfully saved your preferences and you are not required to do anything further. These should change to green (Allocated) after preferences have been released.
Red Indicates that you have not yet selected your preferred class time or nominated your preferences. Any activities with a red '!' next to them should be actioned as soon as possible.
