How to Apply for Vacancies
Applications should be submitted via the University's e-Recruitment system. Click on the "Positions Vacant" link on the left hand menu to access the current vacancies and then click the relevant "Position Title" to view the detailed position description and to start your application.
Before starting your application you are advised to read the position description and selection criteria. If you believe you meet the selection criteria, you should proceed with your application.
If you would like further information about the vacancy, please contact the nominated contact officer, who will be able to answer questions in relation to the area of work, to the specific requirements of the position, and to inform you about other sources of information that may be available e.g. annual reports, policy statements, etc.
For appointment to the University of Canberra you should have either Australian or New Zealand citizenship, have an appropriate working visa, or be eligible for permanent resident status (either via sponsored migration, or another appropriate working visa).
Your application should include the following:
Curriculum Vitae (CV)
Your CV should comprise a resume of personal particulars and full details of your education and work history.
Statement addressing the selection criteria
All the information you provide with your application may be used for shortlisting, however the statement addressing the selection criteria is probably the most important part of your application. The selection criteria are specifically designed to relate to the position and your answers should be directly relevant to these criteria.
Use each selection criteria as a heading and provide specific examples of past experience and behaviours that demonstrate the extent to which you meet each criteria.
Academic Vacancies Only
The University is required to comply with the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA). To comply with its legislative requirements and fulfil its commitment to provide quality teaching and research, the University needs to ensure that Academic staff are appropriately qualified. Therefore, it would be appreciated if copies of your relevant academic qualifications are uploaded with your application (original or certified copies of all qualifications will need to be sighted if your application is successful).
A minimum of two professional referees, at least one of whom should be your current or most recent direct supervisor, should be provided. Other referees may be required; however you will be contacted for this information if necessary.
The referees you provide may be requested to comment on both your application and the information you have provided in respect of the selection criteria. In addition they may also be asked to make general comments about your suitability for the advertised vacancy.
