Financial Support

There are a range of financial support programs available for University of Canberra students.


Student Bursary Program

This program has been established to ensure that students in financial hardship or crisis who cannot access other modes of financial support (i.e. Centrelink) can receive payments to support accommodation, food and other expenses. Applications are received online and are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

UC has a wide range of scholarships available to you which can assist with living costs, textbooks or that can contribute towards your fees. Submit one application and you'll be considered for every scholarship you're eligible for.

The UCX Food Pantry

Each week students receive 10 points to “spend” at the UCX Student Food Pantry to collect non-perishable items of their choice. The pantry is open from 11am to 1pm every Tuesday and Thursday and from 4-6pm Wednesday and is located at the UCX Student Lounge.


Students who are part of an equity group may be eligible for WILSS2021 support. Students from a remote or regional area, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students, students with diverse abilities, learning needs or a disability, and/or who come from a low income household are encouraged to apply for WILSS2021 financial support.

  • Smith Family Saver Plus -  Saver Plus is a 10 month financial education and matched savings program that assists families to gain financial skills, establish a savings goal and develop long term saving habits. As an incentive to save, participants receive up to $500 in matched savings when they complete the program.

All students that connect with Student Wellbeing for financial support receive ongoing and individualised support and are promptly connected with additional support across UC and the wider community as required.
