Reducing Our Impact
Global resource scarcity and the need to reduce carbon emissions has placed upward pressure on utility and resource prices and provided the impetus for households and business to improve the efficiency with which they use resources.
For organisations and businesses, higher operational expenses equate to fewer financial resources being available for core business. In the context of the University this equates to fewer resources available for the core business of teaching, learning and research.
The University's sustainability agenda seeks to identify and resolve utility and material resource waste across campus, while improving the efficiency of new infrastructure. It also seeks to promote sustainable behaviour in the campus community by providing guidance for staff and students on how to reduce their personal impact.
